Humanity & Inclusion (HI)

Humanity Inclusion also known as Handicap International contracted Optimum Analysis to conduct a study to identify and describe the impact of explosive ordnance contamination on access to services and socio-economic recovery for affected communities in Ninewa governorate, Iraq.

In total, 69 qualitative interviews were conducted with a total of 39 stakeholders and 30 individuals of the affected population.

The data was used to show whether clearance activities have important consequences that go beyond a reduction of morbidity and mortality. In addition, recommendations were developed for mine action actors to tailor their interventions to ensure maximum impact.
